#3: Hmm… so now that I know how to get there… but by when should I be there?
Ok folks, this is not a Chinese wedding dinner whereby the dinner is at 7.30pm but guests only start to stroll in after 8pm.

The official time off the poster is 6.30pm. But you’d like to reach there say about 6pm or so to start your cam-whoring sessions around the hotel and by the river. It is, after all, your ONE AND ONLY convocation ball of your LIFE. So no amounts of photos will ever do you justice. Just take as many as your memory card can contain!

Furthermore, though there’s no NDP rehearsal going around the corner this time round (phew!), there is, however, the K1 Race and Carnival (click to read more!) going on at Marina Bay as well as the Heritage Festival happening at the Asians Civilisations Museum.

So it’ll be best to leave off early to avoid all the jams around the area!

Trust me... traffic jams are the last thing you want to get yourself into on this big day!

#2: Ok… so now that I’m all dressed up and ready to set off, how the heck do I get there?
  • By train

Only a stone’s throw away from Raffles Place MRT station; simply take the route of Exit F/E and from there follow the river and tada! You’ll be able to see the majestic building in no time!

  • By bus

Seriously, I doubt anyone will take a bus when you are wearing gowns or tuxedo suits. But oh wells, for the benefit of your doubt, there’s a bus stop just right in front of the hotel.

  • By private vehicle/taxi

Well, obviously this is the most sensible way to get to the hotel without sweating and exposing your newly bought suits and gowns to the dust and dirt off the road. Below is a map of area, just for your reference ya?

#1: Wardrobe alert! What should I wear for the ball?
This year’s theme: La Vie De Vegas, is all about glitz and glamour. For guys, think along the line of Las Vegas (the popular TV series with hottie Josh Duhamel); or the Ocean’s gang of George Clooney himself, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon. And how can we possibly forget James Bond in Casino Royale? The night is all about tuxedo suits, black shiny leather shoes and smart straight pants. Be there to not only win the chips, but win the ladies!

All the handsome men you can ever get.

You can never go wrong with a bowtie, suit and pants.

Go for the vintage casino look, if that's what you like.

As for the ladies, it’s high time to start digging for your LBDs (Little Black Dress). Better yet, go crazy and get an outfit bright and shiny! Impress the crowd with a bareback or a deep plunging neckline (wee-ooo-wee!) For references, you can always wiki and see how the “Bond Girls” wear. (From Halle Berry to Eva Greens to even Michelle Yeoh!) Or any snapshots of Emmy/Grammy/Oscar/MTV awards where celebrities will come sashaying in their best gowns and pose at the red carpet will be fine too! For the more adventurous ones… if you’d like to show up in bunny suits… well, by all means go ahead! Har.

The different LBDs for the night.

Or perhaps a bareback, mini short, plunging neckline for you miss?

Hi All!

We’re back with NEW updates!!! Yay! => Hope that everyone is enjoying their holidays or for those who are already @ work, have enjoyed theirs =)

In the matter of 3 weeks the LONG AWAITED Convocation Ball will be here! =) Guess many of you are already busy shopping, preparing your clothes, hair and make-up for this BIG night… so are we!!!

Here’s an extremely fantastic deal that we want to share with all ladies out there! Just for La Vie De Vegas participants, famous make-up stylist Larry Yeo is offering a make-up session for 6 female participants, price: $840/ 6 persons.

For those of you who have little or no clue…

Larry Yeo foray into painting faces began with Clinique but was fully immersed in the world of face painting ever since. During his three years with MAC, Larry created his own trademark and style and began experimenting more with colour and dramatic makeup. A stickler for quality products, he uses his experiences behind the makeup counter and even his education in biotechnology to find the cream of the cosmetic crop. Larry finds inspiration for his work from various music genres, photography, people watching and the occasional sugar rush. Working professional since 2005, Larry works with many local publications, fashion and advertising photographers and runway shows and looks forward to pushing more boundaries in collaboration with other creative professionals. Some of his works include:
